Will it be a good Saturday to run out at Afton?
Partly cloudy. Lows 15 to 20. Highs around 35.
Oooh. Sounds nice.
I am happy I took Monday to rest. My first full week of running felt great, but I definitely don't want to overdo it. I had some lingering soreness in my calves and quads. Just overall tiredness that needed to be limped off for a day. But!!! We are headed for a nice little warm stretch of nearly 40 degrees! I am excited to get on the parkway in my new Vibram FiveFinger KSO's so I can finish my review about them. So far, the verdict is: LOVE THEM!
The KSO's are the only shoes I feel 100% comfortable running in right now, but my foot strength has deteriorated somewhat due to a lack of running movement and wearing shoes this winter, so my runs in them have been topping out at around 70 minutes.
I'm on a major shoe-hunt right now looking for shoes that will fit my wonky toe and wide feet as well as not being too damned over cushioned or over stiff, or "motion control" blah...let's just say that shoe companies must think a person is afraid of touching the damn ground if one has wide feet. It is frustrating. I may end up running in the KSO's full-time if I don't find anything suitable. And I will keep this from turning into a full-on shoe companies don't know jack rant.
NEWS FROM AROUND THE RUNNING BLOGOSPHERE:
Adam is getting ready to run the Chippewa Moraine 50K.
Bryan is getting faster.
Barefoot Ted just finished the Copper Canyon Ultramarathon.
Carl is balancing Family, Faith and Running and doing it well.
Jess is on Spring Break, enjoying Yee's Yoga.
Julie just did a 50 mile adventure training run.
Kel is sick of winter.
Steve is fast, but needs to work on his gameshow buzzer skills.
Matt hit 70 mpw.

Have fun running in those "balmy" temps! I'm gonna be in MN this weekend for a wedding, and I'll bring along my running stuff, but I'm not sure if I'll make out into the frigid cold for a run or not. I hope so.
I hope you do, too. It will be refreshing I'm sure after running in the jungle heat.
