Night Running in Winter

Long Johns? Check. Reflective vest? Check. 15 lb. backpack? Check. Vibram FiveFingers? Check. Hatebreed on the iPod? Check. Go!! The harder you try to break me the harder I push on.

Good for you, Keith. But how well to the Vibram's keep your feet warm? I wear wool socks and heavy Gore-Tex shoes in the winter.

Dry and cold is no problem. Your feet warm up quickly and stay warm as long as you are moving.

Wet and cold is never good...but it is manageable down to about 5 degrees.

I am surprised it works as well as it does.

15 lb. backpack??!!! Are you getting ready for Arrowhead or something?

I just posted about wearing some Body Glove water shoes for colder weather "barefooting". I am loving those.

So you push harder when someone tries to break you, do you, you little whiny wuss...

Glad to see you're back running and bloging.

Running in the cold is the only way to go. It's way better than that wimpy indoor treadmill running. Muwahaha! I've been doing a lot of night running lately myself due to time constraints and loving it. I just had an awesome moonlit trail run last night and had I brought some water and food with me, I would have run for a couple more hours. Glad to see you running and blogging again!
